Individuals and Children
We'll begin by setting up an initial consultation. This will include an initial evaluation as well as a 'lesson', followed by time for questions and answers. The initial consultation will last about and hour and a half.
From there, we determine the best course of action for you or your child going forward. As similar as we all are, we are also very, very different. As such, there is no 'cookie cutter' formula with how our work together might look.
For children with special needs, I like to work with them in a concentrated fashion. It typically takes the form of 2 lessons per day (45 min -1 hour each, separated by at least one hour) over 3-5 days for a total of 6-10 lessons (an Intensive). Ideally, Intensives are then repeated every 4 weeks or so.
The biggest changes for your child will happen between the times that I work with them as their nervous systems integrate the work we have done together. I may also give you, as a parent, a couple of things for you to work with your child on in between the Intensives.
For the adults that I work with on an individual basis, I again like to work in a concentrated fashion. Ideally, we would schedule 5 - 10 lessons over 2 - 4 weeks initially. However, this isn't always possible. Will you get benefit from just working with me once or twice? ABSOLUTELY. Once you've worked with me, I will provide you an understanding of how to integrate the principles that I use in my work into your daily lives in order to continue progressing. The more you can integrate these principles, the quicker your rate of improvement.
Groups
The work that we do here at Evolution Through Movement can be applied to a group setting. The improvements in health and well-being are quite dramatic and can happen very quickly. For an individual wanting to experience this work in a group setting, I teach an on-going drop in class at the Pilates+Yoga Studio in St. Louis.
